Swallowing Clouds

In partnership with Toronto Public Library, Swallowing Clouds is an interdisciplinary arts education program that brings professional dancers, writers, poets, and musicians into community spaces to work with children and youth aged 6–8 and 9–12.

Through guided movement, creative writing, storytelling, and collaborative exploration, participants are invited into an imaginative and supportive creative process. The program emphasizes curiosity, embodiment, and self-expression, offering young people a safe space to explore ideas physically, aesthetically, and emotionally. Depending on the location, the program may culminate in a sharing or informal performance that celebrates the creative journey rather than a polished outcome.

Swallowing Clouds aims to support children in building confidence, creativity, and emotional awareness by offering tools to express themselves through movement, words, and imagination.

At its core, Swallowing Clouds nurtures confidence, empathy, and creative agency — encouraging participants to listen, respond, and create together through multiple artistic languages.
