Moving Stories was developed in 2016 and connects both older adults and youth in workshops that offer an introduction to the world of art, dance, and creativity. The intergenerational approach teaches the importance of movement, understanding and compassion of each respective age demographic. Developed by Yvonne Ng, the programme is open to youth aged 9 to 12 and older adults aged 65 plus.

We’ve been delivering our programmes to retirement residences, libraries, hospitals, and individuals. Some of the places we’ve been to include: Baycrest Health Sciences, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Meridian Hall, Arts Etobicoke, and more.

COVID-19 Update: Originally designed as an intergenerational program, during the pandemic, Moving Stories has transitioned to a program geared toward adults. The programme aims to improve circulation, retain joint mobility, promote mental stimulation, improve posture and coordination, and build strength and balance.

No previous arts or dance experience required.
